Golden Lion Sounds is a plunder into the glamorous world of show business.

The music released on the label is primarily via those that have close connections to the Golden Lion. Many who feature have played at and regularly frequent the establishment.

Originally from Todmorden and now based in Paris, C Douglas has been a close friend of the Golden Lion over its 10 year history, including playing sold out gigs with his former band The Goa Express. He now brings his solo project to the Golden Lion's label.

The EP was made with Steve Cobby over the duration of two sunny weeks. It's melodious, upbeat synth pop with vulnerability at its core. These songs started out as acoustic, folk demos that have now been developed to take the shape of our times. Expect synthesisers, motor beats, pulsing bass lines, big choruses and instantly recognisable hooks.

The first single 'At First' is a track bathed in warm synths and bass that confronts the various stages of growing up, whilst opening up on the past and future possibilities.

Raising over £6000 for Andrew’s chosen charities…

Volume 1 featured new and exclusive music from Hardway Bros, Justin Robertson’s Deadstock 33s, The Light Brigade (David Holmes), Richard Sen, Sons Of Slough, Timothy J Fairplay, 10:40, Rude Audio and an Andy Bell cover of a Sabres Of Paradise track and opened with a Two Lone Swordsmen track that was at that point unreleased on vinyl.

Sounds From The Flightpath Estate Vol. 2 is out this summer, ten more tracks inspired and influenced by the spirit of Andrew Weatherall - and all exclusive to this release.

It features an unreleased Sabres Of Paradise track, new music from Richard Fearless (Death In Vegas), A Certain Ratio and Number, Red Snapper, Richard Norris, David

Harrow, Dicky Continental, Bedford Falls Players, Unit 14 and a Two Lone Swordsmen cover by Sleaford Mods.

Andrew Weatherall is behind all of this. His spirit, his music and his way of doing things - it’s what this is all about.

The musicians and producers on this record are all connected to him in some way. His influence is always there, just out of sight, at the fringes, a presence in the shadows...

'Waka, The Golden Lion’s landlord, told us not long after Sounds From The Flightpath Volume 1 came out that the key to it all is this- ‘imagine it: create it’.

The Emanations are Greg Wilson & Ché Wilson.
'Fragments of cult classic dance tracks sent through the sonic prism to create fresh cut-&-paste hybrid tracks.'

The Emanations acts as a vessel for Greg and Ché Wilson to explore a new cut and paste approach to production. Sending fragments of classic and cult classic dance tracks through their sonic prism to create fresh hybrid tracks.

The past couple of years have been prolific for the pair in the studio, turning their hand to a number of varied official remixes, including Sleight Of Hands’ 10CC cover on Om Records, The Cuban Brothers cover of Razzy’s Northern Soul classic, Heavenly Records Melbourne-based outfit Confidence Man, Hipnotic’s early ‘80s boogie, Brooklyn collective Underground System on Soul Clap Records, Serbian electronic live act Bella Technika and recently Happy Mondays' Loose Fit.
